What Are Common Air Conditioning Problems?

Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning is here with a few of the most common air conditioning problems in Cocoa.

  • No Cool Air

If you can hear your A/C equipment operating but there isn’t cool air being produced, you may need to have your refrigerant levels evaluated. Refrigerant is what helps make sure the air blowing from your air conditioning system is actually cool. Call Service Experts and we’ll come out and check your refrigerant levels and look into why your air conditioner is not giving off cool air.

  • Fan Won’t Rotate

The reason your condenser fan isn’t rotating could be that it merely burned out and you require a replacement. Humidity can cause more condensation so an additional problem to watch for is that the water is not draining properly or that the drain is blocked. If you can check these things, you may be able to pinpoint the problem; if not, give Service Experts a call and we can look into what has stopped your condenser fan from rotating and go over your options to get your system cooling again.

  • Not Cooling Properly

First, try decreasing the temperature on your thermostat. It sounds ridiculous but sometimes we overlook the obvious. If that doesn’t get your A/C cooling, check the air filter. If the air filter is blocked, it could cause huge cooling troubles. Another problem that could cause your ineffective cooling is that your air conditioner is not sized properly, and unfortunately this is a typical issue when homes are constructed. Service Experts will come out and perform an analysis to determine if the size of your system is causing your troubles.

  • System is Short Cycling

If your air conditioner is short cycling, or turning on or off continuously, it could mean one of many things. One is that your condenser or evaporator is dirty and in need of cleaning. Once the unit is cleaned and all blockages removed, you may be good to go. Keep in mind that humidity also plays a part so if your home cools to the right temperature, but then the humidity causes your home to warm back up, it could result in on-again, off-again air conditioning because it’s having to work harder to keep your home comfortable.

No matter your issue, whatever AC trouble you run into, Service Experts is here for you 24 hours a day so we can get your family comfortable quickly.
